Description:  The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, “The Flagship of the Delta,” is steeped in tradition with a rich heritage. UAPB’s residential campus houses over 1,000 students and has a friendly community spirit in which people know and care about one another. It is a multi-cultural institution with a diverse student population.  There are 16 academic departments at UAPB with Baccalaureate degrees offered in several areas, as well as master degree programs in Education, Addiction Studies, and Aquaculture. The UAPB Center of Excellence, Aquaculture and Fisheries, is the only aquaculture program in the state of Arkansas. It is one of the few research programs in the U.S. that focuses on aquaculture production issues. Research faculty at the Center of Excellence are the primary sources of fish diagnostic devices in Arkansas, aquaculture economics and marketing research information in the U.S., and the principal source of information on baitfish production technologies. More than 1 million fish per year are exported to other states and countries based on health inspections made available only at UAPB. UAPB’s athletic program includes football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf, tennis, softball, track and field, and soccer. The 318 scenic acres, 42 major buildings in addition to agricultural and aquaculture research farms, along with more than 80 student organizations enhance the in-class and out-of-class learning and social experience at UAPB.
